These terms are the deal between you and RETRO DERBY ("we", "us") for playing 8-BIT RETRO DERBY at retroderby.com and in its apps (the "game"). By playing you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't play. The short version: it's a free game, play fair, pick a decent name, and have fun.
The game is free. There are no purchases, no subscriptions and no ads. Everything you earn in it - homers, XP, clubs, cards, trails, bats, trophies, badges and the rest - is part of the game, has no money value, and can't be sold, traded for money or cashed out. We keep improving the game, so modes, rules, rewards and difficulty can change at any time, and we may reset leaderboards or records when something has gone wrong (for example a bug or cheating).
Anyone can play without an account. Signing in with Google is for players aged 13 or over (or the age of digital consent where you live), and Google's own rules apply to your Google account. If you are under 18, check with a parent or guardian that it's OK.
The name you choose is shown publicly on leaderboards and to other players. Please:
We can rename, hide, remove scores from, or bar any player who breaks these rules, and reset anything gained by cheating. You can report or block a player from the leaderboard or a league's club list.
Private leagues are run by their host. A league's results and club names can be seen by anyone with that league's code. Share links (extra lives, challenges, referrals) are optional: sharing is never required to play.
The game - its code, pixel art, music arrangements, characters and the RETRO DERBY name - belongs to us. You can play it, share links to it and post screenshots and videos of your games. Please don't copy, resell or re-host the game itself. Ballparks are named after cities only: the game is not affiliated with or endorsed by Major League Baseball, any team, player or league, and any resemblance is fan-made fun.
The game is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it running and your progress safe, but we can't promise it will always be available, bug-free, or that progress, scores or leagues will never be lost. Keep your player code somewhere safe, or sign in with Google.
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost progress, data or scores, arising from the game. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the consumer laws of the place where you live that can't be limited by agreement.
You can stop playing at any time and delete your data from SETTINGS → PLAYER CODE → DELETE MY DATA (see the Privacy policy). We may suspend access for players who break these terms, or stop running the game, in which case we'll say so on the game's news.
If these terms change, the date at the top changes, and for anything important we'll post it in the game's NEWS. Playing after a change means you accept the new terms.
